It floats like spring air in Surfshark. As usual, the Dutch provider provides an update on the traditional monthly update of its VPN. And this time, the program is a little more muscular than usual.

Greatly accustomed to regular updates, and rather talkative in details of release notes, Surfshark is starting the month of May in great shape. The new features and improvements made mark a significant turning point in its development, between tvOS compatibility, overhaul of tools hitherto left aside and generalization of test functionalities to all countries. A rather convincing feat for this VPN which is known to be creative and innovative.

An app for Apple TV: NordVPN, ExpressVPN and all the others, be careful

Surfshark promised it, here it is finally. The native app for tvOS is finally available for everyone. This expected new feature should allow subscribers of the service to benefit from the virtual private network on their connected TV without bothering with sometimes complex manipulations linked to the manual configuration of DNS. From now on, all you need to do is download the application from the Apple TV App Store, identify yourself and connect to one of the available servers. Much faster, and above all much more practical.

Broadly speaking, the tvOS app includes all the essential features of the desktop and mobile clients. A launch that we despaired of seeing happen one day, while Apple has supported native VPNs since tvOS 17, deployed last September, and the competition had been a bit more reactive than Surfshark on the subject.

Standing ovation for the return of antivirus, ID monitoring and Android widgets

In addition to this major new feature, Surfshark has taken advantage of the last few weeks to continue the development of existing tools, some of which are poorly maintained. The supplier therefore announces the return of its antivirus on Windows, enhanced with a new feature: Web Protection. Logically, the option analyzes the applications installed on the system and systematically scans suspicious URLs to alert Internet users in the event of phishing attempts and fraudulent downloads.

On the Android side, the provider is dusting off the widgets of the VPN and its Search engine to offer more control at your fingertips, all in a more visually pleasant environment.
Latest news: the global launch of the identity data monitoring tool integrated into the Alert module. Until now in the testing phase and reserved for a handful of countries, the option is now accessible to everyone.

All of these additions and improvements are available on mobile as well as desktop, at no additional cost, in the latest version for the clients concerned. So you just need to update your applications to take advantage of it.
