Surprise: Amazon Prime subscription increased earlier than expected

BRIEF // Amazon takes everyone by surprise by raising Prime’s price 10 days ahead of schedule. You now have to pay €6.99 monthly or €69.90 annually to access delivery benefits or the Prime Video service.

Some surprises are more fun than others. For example, if you were planning to switch to Amazon Prime, telling yourself that you still had time before the increase scheduled for September 15, Jeff Bezos’ firm will probably disappoint you. Without drum or trumpet, and especially no reason, the increase has just been done, ten days before the scheduled date.

As we explained to you not long ago, we are still talking about an increase of 17 and 43% for monthly and annual subscriptions, which respectively go from €5.99 to €6.99 and from €49 to €69.90. The changes have already been made, whether for new customers or those already benefiting from a subscription. For the latter, the bill will change from the next renewal. The student subscription is not to be outdone, going from 2.99 to 3.49 € monthly or from 24 to 34.95 € annually.
