“Following the 4% revaluation in July 2022, retirement pensions have been further revalued by 0.8% since 1 January 2023, in line with inflation. Following the entry into force of the 2023 Social Security Budget, the government formalized the increase in the basic pension. When will you benefit from it?
“Following the 4% revaluation in July 2022, retirement pensions are again revalued by 0.8% since January 1, 2023, under inflation, writes the Ministry of Health and Solidarity in a press release issued at the beginning of January. This revaluation concerns the basic diets as well as survivor’s pensions. »
This comes as no surprise. The 0.8% increase appeared as early as October in the report of the Social Security Accounts Committee, appended to the Social Security financing bill for 2023, the fall estimate therefore having been confirmed. This increase is indeed automatic: the basic pension increases at the rate of inflation, according to a complex formula based on 2 years of consumer price index.
Why not more than 0.8%? Because the calculation takes into account the “advance” granted from last summer: +4%. This increase of 0.8% comes in addition. For a basic pension of 1,000 euros, the increase will be 8 euros per month.

In fact, the cumulative increase (4.8%) is lower than the annual inflation for 2022, expected at 5.3%, and lower than the recent increase in the Agirc-Arrco supplementary pension (5.12% in November 2022 ).
This automatic increase affects the basic pensions of the cnav (National Old Age Insurance Fund), from ERS (State Pensions Service), the CNRACL (National Fund for Local Authority Agents) and the National Old-Age Insurance Fund for the Liberal Professions (CNAVPL).
