Surprise ! Two Misses got married in the greatest secrecy

Big surprise in the world of Misses: Miss Puerto Rico and Miss Argentina, met at the Miss International 2020 competition in Thailand, said yes to each other on October 28, 2022, revealing their romance.

No one knew that they had fallen in love and their marriage is a real surprise in the middle of the Miss: Fabiola Valentin (Miss Puerto Rico 2019) and Mariana Varela (Miss Argentina 2019) united in San Juan in Puerto Rico in the most big secret and announced the news on their Instagram account!

“We open the doors to you on this special day”

The two young women have lived their hidden relationship for two years, since their meeting in 2020 in Thailand, where both ended up in the top 10 of the Miss Grand International pageant. From then on, they never left each other again, and chose to keep their love story secret until October 2022. “After deciding to keep our relationship private, we are opening the doors to you for a special day” they captioned a video of their romance at their wedding on October 28, posted two days later on their respective Instagram accounts. Nobody knows which of the two proposed to the other, even if a photo proves that a request was made, and in good and due form!

This good news took their friends Miss by surprise, but that did not prevent them from rejoicing for the two sublime young women, all to their happiness, such as Miss Grand International herself, Abena Akuaba (from Ghana) Samantha Bernardo (from the Philippines), her first runner-up as well as Valentina Figuera (Miss Grand International 2019). Themselves very moved, the young beauty queens wanted to thank their friends for their support. “Thank you for all this love! We are very happy and lucky. I wish you that the love you give us will come back to you multiplied! Thank you so much”so writes Mariana Varela.

A competition still little known in France

Aged 22 and 26 respectively, Mariana Varela and Fabiola Valentin are both professional models. After their surprise announcement they were also congratulated by the management of the organization of the Miss Grand International competition which was proud to highlight“that she supports love without limits”. In San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico where they said “yes”, gay marriage has been legal since 2015. This union is a great first in the very strict and highly codified world of Misses, and thus opens the door to new unions.

Who would have thought that behind the scenes of a beauty pageant could create so much love? Especially since it is less known than Miss Universe or Miss World, Miss Grand International was only established in 2013 in Thailand. So few French women have taken part in this competition, some of them have nevertheless taken part in the last four years, such as Cassandra de Sousa in 2019, Marine Comby in 2020, Elodie Sirulnick in 2021 as well as Lucie Carbon in 2022.
