Surprise visit by Volodimir Zelensky to Norway


OSLO, Dec 13 (Reuters) – Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky arrived in Norway on Wednesday on an unannounced visit to discuss support for his country’s defense against Russian invasion, the government said Norwegian in a press release.

Volodimir Zelenskiy and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere will meet in particular to discuss Norway’s continued support for Ukraine, the government said.

The leaders of Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland are also due to meet in Oslo on Wednesday as part of a Nordic summit.

“Norway will continue to support Ukraine’s struggle to defend itself. We are providing targeted and long-term support to help Ukraine in its fight for freedom and democracy,” Jonas Gahr Stoere said in a statement.
