Everything is getting more expensive these days. This not only affects living expenses, but also electronics. Apple is said to be asking more for the new smartphones with the new iPhone 14, and Samsung can probably not ignore it either. Instead of being cheaper, the new folding cell phones are becoming a little more expensive.
Samsung has to increase prices for folding cell phones
It was actually assumed that the prices for the new folding phones Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4 would fall. This was the case with the predecessors and is actually normal when expensive new technologies are becoming more widespread and production costs are falling. That probably won’t be the case this year. Because they are first prices for the new folding cell phones have surfaced and they are slightly higher:

For comparison: The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 was launched for 1,049 euros and the Galaxy Z Fold 3 for 1,799 euros. The surcharge may be small, but it’s there. Of course, considering that prices were expected to drop beforehand, that would be a double disappointment. Namely, the prices for the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4 would not even remain unchanged, but would increase.

The market sets its own prices
The higher prices for Samsung’s new folding cell phones wouldn’t be so bad. Even with the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3, the market quickly dropped the prices. Now ask higher prices and expect that Sales increases where people tend to save will not work. As with the current models, prices will fall very quickly and sharply. Only those who want to buy the new Samsung cell phones right at the market launch will have to pay the higher price. We are curious if the information will be confirmed.
