Concern for ecosystem
There are supporters, but also critics. The latter includes Gustav Preiner, who is part of a group of citizens who are critical of the plans. He fears that surface photovoltaics will interfere with the ecosystem. He does not believe that the area can continue to be used for agriculture. “This is just a cosmetic action.” Photovoltaic systems should be built on already sealed areas and not on arable land, says Preiner. In his opinion, instead of large systems, small-scale systems should be used. Furthermore, the population was not sufficiently informed. It is also unclear why only the districts of Unterpullendorf and Kleinmutschen are surveyed, says Preiner.
