Susanne Daubner
Presenter bursts into laughter during “Tagesthemen”
During the broadcast of “Tagesthemen”, Susanne Daubner burst into laughter. The reason for this was a mishap on the part of her colleague.
Susanne Daubner (63) lightened up the “Tagesthemen” on Thursday (July 25) with an involuntary fit of laughter. The TV presenter had just started to speak when a voice from off-screen interrupted her. The newsreader could no longer hide her laughter.
The cause was a colleague’s breakdown
“One day before the Olympic opening ceremony,” began a voice in the background, causing obvious surprise in Daubner. After a brief laugh, she read out her text herself. But that didn’t last long; she stumbled several times. “They beat Australia in Marseille,” Daubner said, laughing, and at the end she let her laughter run wild.
Daubner’s fits of laughter
It was not Daubner’s first fit of laughter in her career. At the end of September 2023, she even laughed until she cried during the “Tagesschau”. When in 2000 a cleaner came into the picture behind her and did her work, Daubner suppressed a laugh. A year earlier, she had presented the news program for the first time. In 1987, she worked as a newsreader for the first time, at that time for the GDR broadcasting company at the youth radio station DT64.
