Suspect in custody – Homeowner put two burglars to flight

A 56-year-old resident of a family home in Unterlangkampfen in the Tyrolean district of Kufstein caught two burglars in the act on Thursday night and fled. One of the suspects (28) was later tracked down and arrested. Since the man was in the country illegally, he was detained pending deportation. The second man is on the run.

The homeowner had heard noises in his home around 2:45 a.m. “During a check, he met the two unknown men,” the police said. They then ran away. The 56-year-old tries to track the intruders, but he didn’t succeed. Backpack with stolen goods secured During a manhunt, the 28-year-old was finally stopped. “A backpack with stolen goods was tracked down and secured by a police service dog in the immediate vicinity,” the officials explain. According to initial investigations, the two men are likely to have crept into the house through the unlocked garage door. The 28-year-old is a Moroccan. The second suspect managed to escape. The two men may have committed other thefts from vehicles near the scene of the crime.
