A little over a year ago, Johann Naldi, an art dealer, said he discovered a trunk filled with works attributed to the Incoherent Arts movement at the home of ordinary people. Inside, there would be the first monochrome and the first ready-made (an everyday object erected into a work of art) ever made. The find is prodigious.
A few months later, the Ministry of Culture classifies the whole as a “national treasure” and the Musée d’Orsay wishes to acquire it. But, according to the investigation of Emmanuel Fansten and Guillaume Gendron, the provenance of this set seems doubtful. In this video, journalists from Release demonstrate how the authenticity of these masterpieces in the collection can be called into question.
