Suspicions of interference with BFMTV: Rachid M’Barki claims to be the victim of “unfair accusations”

Rachid M’Barki, a former BFMTV journalist fired after suspicions of foreign interference in his work, was questioned by a parliamentary commission of inquiry. The journalist proclaimed his innocence and denounced a “media lynching”. “All of this is pure slander,” he said.

Rachid M’Barki was auditioned by a parliamentary commission of inquiry, a month after being dismissed from BFMTV. He is accused of having broadcast on the air, without the authorization of his superiors, subjects praising several countries such as Qatar or Morocco.

The journalist denounces a “media lynching”

Against the backdrop of suspicions of foreign interference and this question: did he receive money from these countries?
In front of the deputies, Rachid M’Barki was very offensive and categorical. According to him, he did not commit any fault…

“In recent years, I have had the satisfaction of co-presenting the program ‘Bring in the accused’, but without knowing that it is I who would find myself on the bench, spectator of my professional killing”, assured Rachid M’Barki. “I am accused of having failed in my professional ethics by passing unverified information on the air and suggesting that I would have been paid for it. All of this is false and amounts to pure slander”, a he said, denouncing a “media lynching”.

Rachid M’Barki has therefore proclaimed his innocence. He also repeatedly pointed the finger at the investigation by the international collective Forbiden Stories which targets him, assuring that his “alleged involvement” was “a fable”.
