SUTOM: Wordle, Tusmo… Free alternatives to the game derived from “Motus”

While, after twists and turns in the SUTOM affair, the application will not finally be deleted, one can wonder: and if it had been, what alternatives would we have had?

SUTOM is the French Wordle, ie a game similar to Motus, in which the goal is to find a word a day in six tries. For fans of puzzles and word searchers of all kinds, know that there are other applications of the same type which, if ever SUTOM were to disappear, could console you. Let’s take an overview of these alternatives free !

wordle

Wordle is a bit the genesis of the trend games like this. It all started earlier this year, when the New York Times bought the rights to the game and turned it into a real phenomenon.

wordle

The principle is similar to that of SUTOM: every day the New York Times publishes a new grid and players must try to find the word in question. Only problem for French-speaking players, the game is exclusively in English. You can still try your luck just here !

Yordle

Notice to fans of Riot Games’ free-to-play MOBA, Yordle is for you! Same principle as for Wordle or SUTOM, each day the player must guess a new word. But this time the words to guess are talways in touch with the universe of League of Legends.

The game was created by video game fans and the result is quite correct. If you ever think you know everything about LoL, Yordle is available here !

Heardle

As its title suggests, Heardle is a game of similar concept to Wordle, but in music ! Each day, players must listen to excerpts in order to guess the title and/or the performer.

As in most games of this type, the player has six tries, with the extracts getting longer and longer in order to give more clues. But what better way to understand than to try it yourself just there !

globe

Here is a game done for geography fans. Every day there is a new mystery land to guess. The player’s objective is, once again, to find the name of the country with as few tries as possible.

Each incorrect answer will appear on the globe with a color indicating its proximity to the Mystery Land. The more the color turns towards the Redthe closer you are to the answer.

Here again, you will have to call on your Anglo-Saxon knowledge and put the country names in english. If you want to try to guess the mystery country of the day, it’s here !

Tusmo

Another derivative of the famous Motus, the Tusmo offers several game modes: the “word of the day” which is the classic game mode similar to Wordle and others, and the “continuation of the day” which, as its name suggests, is composed of a sequence of words to guess.

This game is surely the one that comes closest to SUTOM, by its design, its game mode and of course its Francophonie! It is possible to play alone or with others, everything is in the game menu which is this way !

Worldle

This is not Wordle but Worldle, a similar game in which this time you have to find the name of a country from its shape. Every day, the guessing area changes and all countries pass through it.

As usual, you have six tries to find and bonus, the game is in french. To play it and put your knowledge of geography to the test, it’s just there !

Zutom

Here is a game that you unfortunately will not be able to play, but you can attend ! Indeed, the game will be the SUTOM of the next ZLAN, which is fast approaching. According to ZeratoR, one of the tournament organizers, a system allowing the public to participate could however be put in place.

We don’t know the exact rules of the game yet, but we know that it will be an adaptation of our dear SUTOM, with ZeratoR sauce!

At present, we still do not know SUTOM’s precise fate. In any case, whether the game is deleted or not, you will have something to do for free!

Bad news for all Sutom fans: this variant of the famous Motus, completely free and online, will close its doors for legal reasons.
