SUV coupe 408: Peugeot tease on Twitter

New trend among car manufacturers: teasing its new products on social networks. This is still the case with Peugeot which, on Twitter, officially reveals the upcoming arrival of its future 408.

We know that the latter will be a coupe SUV based on the Stellantis Group’s modular EMP2 platform. The barely concealed ambition of this future crossover, which should be unveiled in June, is to find a place between the Renault Arkana and the Volkswagen T-Roc. The photo slipped on Twitter by the manufacturer highlights part of the stylistic identity, with a vertical dashed mesh, body color, supposed to give visual volume to the vehicle.

Since the PlugInHybrid hashtag is also affixed to the publication, we will undoubtedly find the PHEV 1.6 PureTech 180 and 225 hp rechargeable hybrid engines that equip the 308. A version equipped with the 1.2 PureTech of 130 hp should also see the light of day. On the other hand, in our opinion, the 360 hp traction chain found on the 508 PSE or the DS9 4×4 should not be part of it.

Pending production, which should occur in 2023, the 408 should be one of the stars of the Paris Motor Show this fall.
