Actress Suzanne Somers died two weeks ago. According to media reports, there is now an official cause of death.
According to a US media report, the official cause of death of Suzanne Somers (1946-2023) has been determined. The actress died of breast cancer that had metastasized to the brain, says “The Blast”, citing the death certificate. It reportedly noted that a biopsy was performed to confirm the cause of death. However, according to The Blast, an autopsy did not take place.
According to the report, Suzanne Somers also suffered from hypertension (high blood pressure) and hydrocephalus – a brain disorder that involves fluid buildup. The actress died on October 15 in Palm Springs, California, after a years-long battle with cancer.
Suzanne Somers battled breast cancer for over 20 years
Somers was diagnosed with breast cancer 23 years ago after previously battling skin cancer. “Even when I played Chrissy in Jack of Hearts, I had cancer three times,” Somers told CBS News in 2020.
Suzanne Somers was best known for her iconic roles in “Jack of Hearts with Two Ladies” (1977-1981) and “A Strong Family” (1991-1998). She has also published more than 25 books, been a New York Times bestselling author, and founded health and beauty companies.
Suzanne Somers was buried in Cathedral City
Somers died two weeks ago, the day before her birthday, at the age of 76. Her longtime press secretary, R. Couri Hay, said “People” magazine, the actress died peacefully at home. Somers spent her final moments at home, surrounded by her husband Alan Hamel, her son Bruce Somers Jr. and other members of her immediate family.
Three days after her death, Somers was buried at Desert Memorial Park in Cathedral City, California, according to The Blast.
