Soccer star Svenja Huth has become a mother for the first time. She also revealed the name of the offspring on Instagram.

DFB player Svenja Huth (32) and her wife Laura are happy about their first child together. The 32-year-old shows this on Instagram. There she shared a photo of her wife and the baby’s little hand holding Huth. She also apparently reveals the name in her post. “Emil” can be read on a bracelet that the newborn is wearing.

The soccer player is not yet revealing any more information; she only added a heart emoji to the photo. There are already numerous congratulations in the comments section on the post. Alexandra Popp (32), for example, wrote: “Finally you are our little lucky charm, congratulations you three.”

Bureaucratic hurdles

In July it was announced that Svenja Huth and her wife Laura, who have been married since June 2022, would become parents in September. As the two revealed in the ZDF documentary “Born for this – More than football” as part of a sports studio report, they decided on the so-called ROPA method for artificial insemination.

“It’s a big project that we’re tackling. We decided on a method that we could only have carried out in Spain, in Valencia,” explained Laura, who carried the child. To do this, eggs were taken from her wife Svenja, fertilized outside her body and then inserted into Laura.

They also talked about bureaucratic hurdles: “In Spain the law is such that if we had the child there, we would both be considered mothers,” Laura continued. Unfortunately, this is not yet the case in Germany. Svenja has to adopt her own child after birth, which is difficult for both of them and makes them sad. It is humiliating that as a mother she has to take a drug test and present an extended certificate of good conduct in order to adopt her own child, said Huth. “We’re married, it’s not really possible to have more children. You would like more equality,” explains her wife.
