There is a change in the management of the Cantonal Zurich SVP. The party announced on Wednesday that Benjamin Fischer would give up the presidency. In the Message Fischer gives reasons for his resignation. He has started a new professional challenge. He has also been a member of the National Council since the end of February.

Fischer was only elected two and a half years ago at the age of 28 as President of the Zurich SVP after the party had suffered significant losses in the elections. Fischer was the only candidate. When he was nominated, he already made it clear that he had not rushed for the office – among other things because he was already leading the Young SVP Switzerland at the time.

The farmer Domenik Ledergerber from Herrliberg is to succeed him. The 34-year-old has been a member of the Zurich cantonal council and treasurer of the cantonal party since 2018. Ledergerber is hardly known outside the party.
