Parties, sports events, public transport – and everything without personal limits and mask requirements! In more and more countries, everyday life is finally returning after the corona pandemic.
This is made possible by a high level of vaccination. The German Robert Koch Institute assumes that the fight against the Delta variant requires a vaccination quota of at least 85 percent for 12 to 59 year olds and at least 90 percent for over 60 year olds.
However, if you want to travel to these countries of normalcy, you have to pay attention to something: You need a vaccination certificate or a negative test to enter the country.
Blick shows how and where everyday life in Europe returns.
Denmark
Denmark ends all corona measures this Friday. After around 86 percent of those over 12 years of age are fully vaccinated, the epidemic is under control and is no longer a threat to society, said Health Minister Magnus Heunicke (46). The vaccination rate of 95 percent is very high, especially among those over 60.
In the spring, Denmark introduced a certificate requirement that entitles you to visit restaurants and the hairdresser. Even this certificate is no longer required. In Denmark, Corona is now seen almost like a normal seasonal flu.
Sweden
As of September 29, all restrictions will be lifted, and the recommendation to work from home will also be withdrawn. Only recommendations for hygiene measures and distance rules are retained. A certificate was not previously necessary, but its introduction for certain major events is now being examined.
Around 82 percent of the population over the age of 16 received one dose and 70 percent two doses. The director of the health authority, Johan Carlson, 67, said people who were vaccinated could, in principle, lead normal lives after September 29. Unvaccinated people are still at risk of serious illness.
Great Britain
England was the first European country to celebrate the end of all measures on July 19 with the “Day of Freedom”. Masks are only recommended now. In some shops and means of transport, however, they are prescribed by the entrepreneur. Due to the increase in the number of cases, a certificate is required for night clubs and other indoor events from the end of September.
The British were the first in Europe to start vaccinating in December 2020. The other British states are now also introducing easing.
Ireland
The government is already promising that all restrictions will be lifted on October 22nd. From then on, a certificate should also no longer be necessary. This is made possible by the high vaccination rate of over 85 percent among adults.
The easing up to then takes place gradually. This week, for example, the number of participants at events was relaxed, and further simplifications are to follow in the course of the month.
