Sweden says goodbye to Astrazeneca

As the health authority Folkhälsomyndigheten announced on Friday, 89 percent of people over 65 years of age – the population group that mainly received Astrazeneca in Sweden – are now fully vaccinated. For this reason, the authority has now decided to end the distribution of the preparation to the individual regions of the Scandinavian EU country and thus gradually stop using the product.

The regions that still have Astrazeneca vaccine in stock can therefore either use it or the funds from Biontech / Pfizer and Moderna. A part of the remaining Astrazeneca cans is to be donated.
