HELSINKI (Reuters) – Sweden and Finland will send delegations to Ankara on Wednesday to discuss Turkey’s opposition to the two Nordic countries joining NATO, Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto said on Tuesday.

“We are sending our delegations to Ankara, those of Sweden and Finland. It will take place tomorrow, so the dialogue continues,” said Pekka Haavisto at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Turkey, a member of NATO, opposes the entry of Sweden and Finland, to a lesser extent, arguing that the two countries are a haven for “terrorists” of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK). ).
