Instabox also wants to deliver in Germany

In the coming year, the Swedish parcel service Instabox intends to compete with the major providers in initially three German regions. In addition to its own parcel stations, logistics centers are also to be built. The start-up wins a fashion company from its home country as its first major customer.

The Swedish parcel service Instabox wants to stir up the important German market from next year. The start-up from Stockholm will start in Germany in 2022 as a competitor to service providers like DHL, as the “Wirtschaftswoche” reported. “We want to deliver on the same day in Germany as well,” Instabox founder Alexis Priftis told the newspaper.

“Germany is one of the largest markets in Europe, it is also a very competitive market,” he said. “But we are confident that consumers in Germany will appreciate our service.” For example, the company will deliver packages from the fashion retailer H&M.

Among other things, Instabox wants to set up its own parcel stations where consumers can pick up their orders themselves. In the first year, around 1000 parcel stations would be aimed for in Germany. Initially, the offer should be available in Hamburg, Berlin and the Rhineland, and later also elsewhere in the country. According to the information, the first logistics centers are to be built in Düsseldorf and Berlin. The start-up plans to hire 500 to 1000 new employees in Germany in the first year.

According to “Wirtschaftswoche”, Instabox is already active in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and the Netherlands. The start-up was founded in 2015 and has around 2500 employees.
