The Swedish royal family releases new portraits of the princesses. At first glance, a few details particularly catch the eye.

The new portraits of the Swedish royals look almost like they were painted. Above all, Crown Princess Victoria, 44, Princess Madeleine, 39, and Princess Sofia, 37, are the focus. The reason: their breathtaking looks. There are four things that immediately catch your eye when you look at it.

Four details that stand out in the new portraits of the Swedish princesses

1. We know them! The royals don’t wear new clothes

None of the three women is wearing a new dress. For the shoot, Victoria chooses a light blue dress with drapes and a Carmen neckline. Madeleine chooses a dusky pink dress. Due to the flower applications and the transparent details, it looks a bit more modern than Victoria’s dress. Sofia goes for long sleeves and more color with her opulent dress. The interplay of different shades of blue and pink makes them look very fresh overall.

2. Victoria stays down to earth, Madeleine and Sofia love luxury

While Madeleine and Sofia rely on expensive designer creations, Victoria chooses a dress from H&M. She’s had this dress in her closet for ages. Among other things, she wore it to the wedding of Sofia and Prince Carl Philip of Sweden in 2015. Madeleine wears a dress by Swedish designer Ida Sjöstedt in her portrait, Princess Sofia one by Alexis.

3. Princess Sofia’s makeup stands out

Even though all three princesses are perfectly styled in the pictures, Sofia’s make-up still stands out. Especially her lashes. It seems Sofia is wearing fake lashes that open up her eyes. In general, she wears more makeup than Victoria and Madeleine. Victoria’s look is very reduced and natural, while her sister wears a little more on her face.

4. The most valuable accessory: the tiara

No matter how much the clothes may cost, Swedish royals wear the most valuable items on their heads. Victoria wears the cut steel tiara. It has also been worn by Princesses Lilian and Christina. Princess Madeleine wears the Modern Fringe tiara, made from a necklace worn by her mother, Queen Silvia. It was a wedding present. Princess Sofia’s “Palmette” tiara was also a wedding gift for her marriage to Prince Carl Philip in 2015.
