The Austrian actor Swen Temmel witnessed the accident live on the set of “Rust”. The incident was “like a nightmare”.

Actor Alec Baldwin (63) accidentally shot camerawoman Halyna Hutchins (1979-2021) on the set of the western “Rust”. An Austrian colleague of the star witnessed the accident live: Swen Temmel (30) was “only ten meters from the scene of the accident”, as he reports to the “Kronen Zeitung”. The accident on the set was “like a nightmare”.

Accordingly, a shootout was shot. “Suddenly someone collapsed covered in blood,” says Temmel, describing the events. He was then “petrified”. The 30-year-old had known the killed Halyna Hutchins privately, according to the “Kronen Zeitung”. Alec Baldwin, who fired the gun, collapsed on set “completely shocked”.

Investigations are ongoing: How did the accident come about?

The US portal “TMZ” reportedthat an assistant director had handed the revolver to Baldwin just before the accident. According to an arrest warrant from the authorities, he was accidentally loaded with live ammunition. Who was responsible for this in advance should now be determined. Director Joel Souza (48) was also wounded in the accident in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Halyna Hutchins died in hospital from her injuries.
