Swimmer killed by shark near Sydney

SYDNEY (Reuters) – Several Sydney beaches were closed on Thursday after a swimmer was killed by a shark, the first fatal attack in nearly 60 years.

A video posted on social media shows a shark attacking a person on Wednesday afternoon. Drones were deployed to locate the shark.

According to scientists, the shark at the origin of the attack would be a white shark at least three meters long. Sydney’s last recorded fatal shark attack was in 1963.
