The five most beautiful bathing lakes in Hamburg
The lake Hinterm Horn
This bathing lake is located in the Allermöhle district of Hamburg. The lake covers an area of just 10 hectares. You will find a free sandy beach here, which is not overcrowded at least on weekdays. The easiest way to get there is by bike.
The lake is particularly suitable for small swimmers due to the flat entry on the sandy beach. But be careful: in other parts of the lake it can quickly become very deep.
Grilling and bringing dogs is allowed. There are also public toilets here.
Boberger See
Boberger See is in the Boberger Niederung nature reserve in Hamburg. This water is still a good number smaller than Lake Hinterm Horn. There is both a sandy beach and various other entry options.
To get to the lake, take the S21 (stop Mittlerer Weg) from the center of Hamburg. You can not only swim comfortably and enjoy the sun, but also have a barbecue.
There is also a small nudist beach on Lake Boberger.
Hohendeicher See in the southeast of Hamburg
The Hohendeicher See is also known as the Oortkatensee. It is located in the southeast of Hamburg in the Ochsenwerder district. The water covers an area of just over 60 hectares.
The Hohendeicher See is a very popular place for swimming (also ice bathing), sailing, diving, stand-up paddling and windsurfing.
If you are looking for a quiet holiday location in the immediate vicinity of Hamburg, you have come to the right place: there is a campsite by the lake from which you can quickly get to the center of Hamburg by bus and S-Bahn.
Öjendorfer See
The Öjendorfer See is located in the east of Hamburg in the Öjendorfer Park in Hamburg-Billstedt. The lake is over 40 hectares in total.
The water has several expansive meadows, where in the summer people relax in the sun, play ball (soccer, volleyball, etc.), grill and enjoy the green idyll.
There are several kiosks, a mini golf course and designated non-swimmer areas in the lake. If you don't feel like swimming, you can easily walk around the lake.
Camping and camping at the lake are unfortunately not permitted.
Allermöher See: Popular bathing lake was created in the 1980s
Allermöher See is part of a large green area in Hamburg-Bergedorf. The small quarry pond was created in the 1980s and has since been a popular destination for people in the area.
There is a sandy beach and a jetty that leads out onto the water. There is also a marked non-swimmer area here.
There is plenty of space to play beach volleyball (or other ball sports) and barbecuing is also allowed.
