Swimming: Yohann Ndoye Brouard European champion in the 200m backstroke


By improving his French record, the Frenchman won the European title in Rome.

Frenchman Yohann Ndoye Brouard became European swimming champion in the 200m backstroke on Saturday in Rome, beating his French record with a time of 1 min 55 sec 62 in the final.

Qualified the day before for the final on time having swum alone, after a plot problem at the start, Ndoye Brouard beat the Hungarian Benedek Kovacs (1:56.03) and the Briton Luke Greenbank (1:56.15).
