Swiss Army – Army tightened measures: holiday ban and test before engagement – News

  • Anyone who enrolls in a recruiting school in January must present a negative PCR or rapid antigen test.
  • In addition, in January there is an exit and holiday ban for all recruit schools and also for the full-service and WK formations.

The orders are intended to ensure that the approximately 11,200 aspirants and 2,500 cadres will be able to move in healthily, according to a statement from the army. She sent a letter to the future recruits. In it, she calls on young people to be tested for the coronavirus by their family doctor or in a test center before they move in. You will be reimbursed the costs.

Only those who can show a negative PCR test or a rapid antigen test are allowed to enter. The former is valid for 72 hours, the quick test for 24 hours. Those who tested positive and those with symptoms must stay at home, go into isolation, and report to their school command. Until they recover, they can at best begin their RS with distance learning.

No exit

In addition, all recruits, full-time servants and cadre schools are banned from exit and leave for at least the whole of January. The army makes the suspension dependent on the development of the pandemic situation. With this measure, she wants to ensure that the virus is not transmitted from civil to military or vice versa, if possible. So there is also enough time available for regular testing in order to have a comprehensive picture of the health of the troops at all times, the message goes on to say.

At the beginning of 2022, the army command also wants to decide whether the prospective recruits should move into the winter RS on a staggered basis, as in the previous year. That would mean that some of the cadres and recruits start the RS again at a distance with learning from home. According to the announcement, recruit and cadre schools will continue to be carried out as planned in order to secure stocks in the long term.
