Xamax remains second rate

Neuchâtel Xamax was able to end a messed-up season in a forgiving manner. In the second leg against Rapperswil-Jona, the defeated Challenge League bottom team didn’t let anything go wrong and won 3-0 in front of their own supporters without a fight. Xamax had already won the first leg against the representative from the Promotion League with 3:1. Raphaël Nuzzolo, who came on as a substitute in the 75th minute, celebrated his dernière. The Xamax club legend ends her long career a month before her 40th birthday.

Legend:

Was given a fitting farewell by the Xamax fans

Dominique Blanc was confirmed by acclamation as President of the Swiss Football Association (SFV). The 72-year-old from Vaud has been in office since 2019. There were no opposing candidates at the meeting. The delegates also unanimously approved a structural reform. In the future, two women will be represented on the SFV central board. The body will be increased by two seats, from seven to nine. It was also decided that members of the Central Executive Committee may be in office for a maximum of twelve years and up to the new age limit of 70 years.
