Tonight the SRF 3 Sounds is going up! Showcase with an exclusive double concert by Sirens of Lesbos and the dream team Pablo Nouvelle & Nativ as part of the Swiss Music Days. If you are not there at the SRF Live Stage in Zurich, you can watch the two-person show in the video live stream on srf3.ch or live on Radio SRF 3.
So that you are as well prepared as possible for this evening, we will introduce the two acts to you in more detail here – in a form for which we were certainly not inspired by our SRF buddies’ “I or You” from “Faces & Stories”.
Pablo Nouvelle & Nativ – the tastiest combination since potato strips and frying oil
The rap wrecking ball Nativ from Biel and the Bernese electronica inventor Pablo Nouvelle are already quite a force solo. As a duo, they grow into a veritable force of nature and with the release of their joint debut record “Embrace”, they show how masterfully and passionately they are able to unite the two worlds.
The fact that things work so well between the two musically is probably also due to their private friendship. That’s why they hardly have to think when we ask them who would be more likely to accept a standing order at Ballermann or miss a show because they were lying drunk backstage:
Sirens of Lesbos – a repertoire as wide as Jeff Bridges in “The Big Lebowski”
The Bernese group masters all varieties of the loosely defined pop genre. A cheesy, beautiful love song that doesn’t make your ears sticky? “Easy”! A hazy bedroom rework of the 90s hit “Sweet Harmony”? Naturally! A feature with P-Funk pioneer Bootsy Collins? “8 Billion”, released last month!
One day after the showcase, the second studio album “Peace” by Sirens of Lesbos will be released, which will also feature Erick the Architect from the Flatbush Zombies.
The singing mic is shared by the sisters Nabyla and Jasmina Serag, to whom we ask the really important questions: Which of them was the favorite child? And who loves the other more? You can see whether we have triggered a sibling crisis here:
The sounds! Showcase is part of the Swiss Music Day 2023
On Swiss Music Day, all SRG radio stations play exclusively Swiss music 24 hours a day. In addition to various live guests on SRF 1 and SRF 2 Kultur, SRF’s television program is also programmed under the banner of Swiss music. Radio SRF 3 crowns the day with the exclusive Sounds! showcase from Sirens of Lesbos and Nativ & Pablo Nouvelle.
