Switch: an update on console sales and the top 10 Nintendo games as of December 31, 2022

It’s the period that wants that, the publishers share in turn their quarterly results for the period from October 1 to December 31, 2022, and it is therefore the turn of nintendo to pass, then here is our traditional point on this subject, all the information being available on the official site of the firm. The Switch therefore continues to sell and following the end of the year celebrations, it is therefore at 122.55 million copies sold, or 8.22 million for the quarter. This is certainly a worse performance than in the previous year (10.67 million) at the same time, but it is still huge compared to the previous quarter. The lack of semiconductors and other component supply shortages are mentioned, as they impacted production until the end of the summer. Keep in mind, however, that the console is no longer very young, so such a decline is inevitable. The OLED model is taking more and more space in these sales, compared to the basic one and the Lite.

As for games, 76.71 million copies have found takers over these three months for a total now reaching 994.30 million titles sold. The billion is near! Here again, compared to last year, a drop should be noted (85.41 million). The top 10 exclusives first party has obviously evolved a bit, with the expected entry of Pokemon Scarlet and Purple in 7th place, which despite their technical flaws were a hit from their launch. On the other hand, the remakes Pokémon Sparkling Diamond and Sparkling Pearl were ejected from the rankings, while Let’s Go, Pikachu and Let’s Go, Eevee cling to it, like what these mascots, the nostalgia and the concept of these episodes are interesting even long after their release.
