Switch: faced with the rise in summer temperatures, Nintendo recalls the safety instructions in the event of high temperatures

It’s not this week that you’re going to deny it: we are experiencing a hot summer in mainland France, while temperatures are expected to exceed 40°C in some regions in the coming days. This is the second wave of a heat wave of its kind this year in Western Europe, but we are not the only area of the world concerned.

In Japan, for example, the temperature also broke records in June, a heat of 40.2°C having for example been recorded in Isesaki 2 weeks ago. The constructor nintendo therefore wanted to remind you of the safety instructions for using the Switch in the face of these high temperatures, which are valid for both the Japanese and international public.

Playing the Nintendo Switch in a high temperature area may cause the console to heat up. Please use the console in areas between 5 and 35°C.

Additionally, blocking the air inlet and vent outlets can cause the console to heat up. Please allow good ventilation around these vents.

Avoid leaving your console exposed to the sun for too long, otherwise it will overheat and enter sleep mode, and be careful not to obstruct the upper and rear ventilation paths. If something goes wrong, just let your Switch breathe in fresh air for a few minutes and it should be back to working life quickly. For those interested, the Nintendo Switch (OLED model) is available from €310.49 on Amazon.co.uk.
