Whether it’s the Switch Pro or not, Nintendo is indeed preparing for the future with the success of its portable console. It’s like not knowing what to think about it. For several years, but especially since 2021, rumors around the Switch Pro have been rife. We thought the wait was finally over when Nintendo finally let us down by unveiling an OLED Switch instead. Then, the following year, the rumors continued, until, according to the latest information, the Japanese firm finally abandoned the project.

But that does not mean that the Nintendo Switch will never be replaced by another console. The latter already has an exemplary longevity (which does not fail to attract some criticism) and, even if success is still there, one day will come when the small laptop will be too old to be able to really claim to compete with its rivals.

Nintendo is already preparing the release of its future console

Precisely, a recent report from Nikkei indicates that the manufacturer is already working on the task. After recalling the impressive sales figures for the Switch, the Japanese media indicates that Nintendo has started negotiations with various suppliers, with the aim of starting production of its next generation of consoles.

So Switch Pro or not Switch Pro? Hard to say. Rumors around the console have been so numerous that one can only think that it was in Nintendo’s boxes at some point. But, with the shortage of components, the project could be delayed, until today lacking coherence with the current market. The manufacturer could therefore have decided to go directly to the next step.

Only the future will tell us. According to Nikkei, this famous console will not show up until the second half of 2024.
