Switzerland must massively strengthen cooperation with NATO

Swiss security policy is at a dead end. Russia’s attack on Ukraine bluntly reveals this. We need new paths in the field of possible security policy cooperation and in our armed forces planning.

The neutral countries Finland and Sweden are taking part in NATO exercises and gearing their armed forces towards interoperability.

As a small state, Switzerland is usually no longer able to defend itself autonomously in a modern conflict for technological and financial reasons. Our country is dependent on cooperation with other armed forces in the event of an attack.
