A new interpretation of Reki Kawahara’s work, Sword Art Online: Last Recollection is set in the Underworld war and revolves around a character created especially for the game, a dark knight named Dorothy who will recruit Kirito and his companions in his mission to protect this virtual world.
“The most popular characters from the series are back in this new installment of the Sword Art Online franchise, which approaches, from an unexpected angle, the narrative arc of the war of the Underworld, already told in the novel and the anime“, explains Bandai Namco. Already confirmed are Kirito, Asuna, Shinon, Leafa, Alice, Eugeo, Bercouli, Cardinal, Shasta, Lipia, Isakhn and Dee Eye Ell.
The publisher adds that Last Recollection offers “faster action” and “good party coordination” for those who will take advantage of the online features with up to four players. In the meantime, here is a trailer and some screenshots of this title which once again ignores the Switch, no doubt to better sell a port later.
