bandai namco recently lifted the veil on Sword Art Online: Last Recollectiona new console game that will adapt the arc War of Underworld and which should reach us in the course of the year 2023. Just to wait until the release of this new title, the Japanese publisher intends to give fans of ODS something to take care of a little, especially on mobiles. Sword Art Online Variant Showdown premiered earlier this year, and is now playable on Android and iOS platforms, right in time for the anime’s tenth anniversary Sword Art Online.
With even a bit of Battle Royale
This Sword Art Online Variant Showdown will tell us an untold story, which takes place after the events of the arc Alicization. Kirito and his troupe will investigate the game Cross Edge, in which a participant seems to have the ability to make people lose some of their memories they manage to defeat. Lack of luck, our young hero and his colleagues will also be attacked.
This 3D gacha-like action-RPG allows us to take control ofa team of three characters, which can be customized as desired with alternative outfits and accessories. Each character has a type giving him access to advantages or weaknesses depending on the enemy, and you will have to learn how to use the switch system to do as much damage as possible in combat.
We also find a Battle Royale mode (because it’s the fashion) to get some PvP in which 4 players compete and must defeat as many enemies as possible.
