SWTOR is revamping its PvP with patch 7.2, Showdown on Ruhnuk

A few months after its last update Star Wars: The Old Republic reveals the content planned for the winter. SWTOR patch 7.2, Showdown on Ruhnuk, continues the story of Shae Vizla as she hunts down Mandalorian rebels. But the story isn’t the only thing changing with this update. The end-game experience is improved, while PvP gets a slight overhaul.

Mandalore the Avenger’s Hunt

It’s a classic tradition now in Star Wars: The Old Republic, the arrival of a new update marks the progress of the narrative framework. Confrontation on Ruhnuk cuts to it, exploring the story of Shae Vizla. Mandalore’s hunt led her to Ruhnuk as she searched for the Mandalorians’ main base of operations. This new planet, completely arid, shelters a daily zone. They allow you to come to the aid of the forces of Mandalore, and to learn more about the Mandalorian culture. A new reputation accompanies these quests, offering many rewards.

Redesigned PvP to expand the possibilities

In order to offer more things to the community, without having to completely overhaul their system, the developers have separated PvP into two. One queue is now dedicated to 4v4, and the other to 8v8. In addition to offering more game modes to these two queues, this will speed up matchmaking. Additionally, a new 4v4 arena map is opening, Onderon Palace Ruins.

But a new PvP progression is added to the list. In the form of a battle pass, it offers multiple rewards depending on a player’s involvement in PvP. A paid version is also present, allowing you to accumulate points more quickly during a season. These should last an average of 4 months, for a total of 3 seasons per year.

The late game, more accessible than ever

In addition to these additions and revamp, equipment progression is also overhauled. The power cap is increased, and will be easier for players to reach. The cap now reaches level 336 in PvE and 332 in PvP. The power floor also benefits from an improvement, removing the level cap of 318 in PvP and 320 in PvE. This will make it easier to gear up properly to tackle end-game content in SWTOR Patch 7.2.
