Sylvie Meis: does she have to cancel her wedding because of the corona crisis?

In summer Sylvie Meis (41) and her fiancé Niclas Castello (41) want to say yes. In early January 2020, the 41-year-old told the gala magazine details about her upcoming wedding. The plans would run "at full speed" and there would "not be a big showbiz circus". The celebration should take place "in a very small group in the sun", said Meis at the time. But the Corona crisis could now put a spanner in the works for the couple.

"We have to go through this together"

In an interview with the magazine "Closer", from which various media quote, Sylvie Meis explains: "As far as our wedding is concerned, we will see how the situation develops over the next few weeks."

The moderator also explains: "I have great respect for the current, the upcoming and the possible consequences that Corona brings and will bring." Her urgent appeal: "We have to go through this together and take responsibility. We have to be considerate. We have to take care of ourselves, our parents, friends and relatives."

Sylvie Meis also points out that "ten years ago" she "would have belonged to the risk group". At the time, the moderator was suffering from breast cancer.

For Meis it is the second wedding. Her damian (b. 2006) comes from her first marriage to the former Dutch soccer player Rafael van der Vaart (37).
