Presenter mourns former “Let’s Dance” partner

Christian Bärens performed alongside Sylvie Meis on “Let’s Dance”. The presenter mourns the unexpected death of the dancer.
Sylvie Meis (46) was not only the presenter of the popular RTL format “Let’s Dance” for several years. The Dutchwoman also took part in the third season as a celebrity candidate and danced alongside the unexpectedly deceased Christian Bärens. Meis mourns on Instagram about her dance partner at the time.
Sylvie Meis mourns the loss of a “great person”
“A great person has left us,” writes Sylvie Meis. “I am incredibly sad about the news of my dear Christian’s far too early death.” The presenter danced her way back into a new life with him after my cancer. In 2009, she made public that she had breast cancer.
According to Meis, Bärens was also an asset to everyone who knew him. Her thoughts are with the deceased dancer’s family and loved ones and she is “infinitely sorry”.
RTL had previously confirmed that Bärens had died unexpectedly at the age of 46. He had danced alongside Meis until the sixth show of the third season in 2010, but had to drop out due to back problems. “Even though he only took part in ‘Let’s Dance’ for a short time, the news of his sudden death shocked us. Our thoughts are with his family and we send them lots of strength,” it said. on the show’s Instagram account.
Other stars from the “Let’s Dance” cosmos also expressed their condolences. Judge Motsi Mabuse (43), dance professionals Massimo Sinató (43), Alexandru (29) and Patricija Ionel (29) as well as actress and former participant Sharon Battiste (32) commented, mainly with heart emojis.
