She celebrates divorce anniversary with ex-husband Niclas Castello

Sylvie Meis and Niclas Castello are officially divorced – a reason for the former couple to celebrate, as they do on Instagram.
Sylvie Meis (46) and Niclas Castello (45) are officially divorced – and are celebrating it. Published on Instagram the former spouses shared a post. “Happy Divorce Day,” they wrote. “How nice to still have a friend in you,” they also said. The text is garnished with emojis, a dove of peace and a white heart. Unlike the red heart, the white version does not stand for romantic love, but for affection.
The couple, who apparently parted ways on good terms, have posted a photo to accompany the text. The black and white photo shows the two from behind, in a tight embrace. It was probably taken during their wedding reception – her chair says “Bride” and his chair says “Groom.”
Followers tend to react with irritation
Some fans are confused by the virtual divorce celebration. “Ok. I didn’t know that you could/should CELEBRATE that,” wrote one follower. “Ok, keeping him as a friend is OK and mature, but celebrating a divorce is sick, I’m sorry,” seconded another. “Better that than a war of roses,” replied another follower.
Sylvie Meis and Niclas Castello were married in Florence on September 19, 2020. The couple got engaged in October 2019 after three months of dating.
In February 2023, the Dutch presenter and the German artist announced their separation. “Our life situations are too different for a shared future,” they said in a joint statement.
The fact that they got on well despite their separation was shown by Sylvia Mei’s birthday on May 13, 2024. “Happy birthday to the queen, best mother and most beautiful person in the whole universe,” wrote Niclas Castello on her special day. “Always follow your dreams, be the beautiful person you are for everyone. Lots of love,” Norbert Zerbs, the artist’s native name, concluded his message.
Sylvie Meis was married to footballer Rafael van der Vaart (41) from 2005 to 2013. She has a son, Damian (18), with the Dutchman.
