They actually wanted to be husband and wife for a long time, but after they had to postpone their wedding due to Corona, everything has now worked out: presenter Sylvie Meis (42) and artist Niclas Castello (42) got married at the weekend in Florence, Italy. While she doesn't want to show photos on her Instagram account until after the celebrations, the celebrity guests give an idea of how splendid and romantic it must have been.
"Royal"
"Congratulations on the wedding @sylviemeis and @ niclas.castello – the sun is shining only for both of you today," writes influencer Riccardo Simonetti (25) on Saturday about two photos on Instagram that show him in a wedding suit in Florence.
In the stories he also shows how splendid the ambience was in the baroque decorated rooms. "Everything feels so royal here," he writes about the pictures of the festively decorated table with delicate pink and cream-colored floral decorations, countless candles and gold-rimmed plates. You can also see how exuberantly the wedding was celebrated – some guests even ended up in the pool at the end of the celebration.
Simonetti even dedicates an extra post to a special highlight for himself: "I ordered a white dress straight away, he writes. Why? He had caught Sylvie's large bouquet of lilies of the valley.
"Love is in the air"
Model, actress and presenter Barbara Meier (34), together with her husband Clemens Hallmann (born 1976) and baby Marie-Therese (2 months), also accepted the wedding invitation to Italy. Before that, it was already "party time", as another clip from the reception at the pool shows – DJ and saxophonist included.
Engagement a year ago
Sylvie Meis and Niclas Castello announced their engagement in October 2019. They actually wanted to say yes in June 2020, but due to Corona they postponed the wedding a few weeks. For Meis it is the second marriage. From 2005 to 2013 she was married to ex-soccer star Rafael van der Vaart (37). They have their son Damián van der Vaart (14) together.
