Sylvie Tellier leaves the competition and reveals the name of her replacement

A historical figure of the beauty pageant. After months of rumors, Sylvie Tellier formalized her departure from the Miss France society on Monday August 30. At the head of the organization of the competition for ten years, following the hasty departure of Geneviève de Fontenay, she ensures “achieving their goals” and wish “give a new direction to (his) career”.

In the pages of TV Magazineshe confided in this “significant life change after seventeen years of involvement in the competition”. “I want to be an entrepreneur. I love my country, and we have tremendous assets to promote. I would therefore like to put my energy at the service of promoting France and its know-how.” If she cares “that the transition with the Miss France teams is going well”Sylvie Tellier announced that Cindy Fabre (Miss France 2005) will be her replacement to represent “the Miss France brand”.

“An advisory role” until the next election

But Sylvie Tellier is not going to let go of everything now. She will still carry out a few missions until the next election at the request of Alexia Laroche-Joubert, president and new general manager of the Miss France company. “She offered me to keep an advisory role alongside them until December, which I accepted, because it was important for me to accompany our partners until the election. On the other hand, I wanted to leave my functions now, because I did not want to launch projects for next year. This will be the role of the new teams.”

Asked about her record of adventure, the ex-queen of beauty crowned in 2002 is proud of the work accomplished. “We have modernized this contest while preserving its values, and last year’s hearings on women and young people are historic. The Miss France elected for seventeen years are accomplished, independent and committed women, well known to the public. We have also created a real family. Our success is international, with two first runners-up at Miss World and a title at Miss Universe.”

At the animation of the Miss France 2023 election

Before finally hanging up the scarf, Sylvie Tellier will host the competition for the last time next December, live from Châteauroux, for the election of Miss France 2023. “I will not be there as general manager of Miss France, but as a presenter alongside Jean-Pierre Foucault. This will be my last show with him, he taught me everything.” A last one which already promises to be moving. “It will be difficult because the contest is part of my life. (…) On stage, I’m going to cry, that’s for sure… But I’m also looking forward to starting this new chapter of my life.”
