Synduality: an action game in a dystopian post-apocalyptic future unveiled by Bandai Namco

sony had warned, his PlayStation State of Play tonight was going to highlight games developed by Japanese studios, and therefore mainly for the Japanese market. This is how we find out Synduality, a futuristic third-person shooter by bandai namco and GameStudio :

Synduality will take us to the future of 2222next to Magusan artificial intelligence, in order to explore the post-apocalyptic world ofAmasia. Between dangerous rain, a mecha and epic battles, there’s plenty to get lost in, but Yosuke Futami, the game’s producer, presents Synduality in detail :

It all started two or three years ago, when our team got together to discuss how to approach the genre of science fiction and, even, to push the boundaries. With the emergence of technologies and the gradual installation of artificial intelligence in our daily lives, we were fascinated by the relationship that humans and artificial intelligences would have in the future. Could they coexist? Would they be able to apprehend emotions, feelings in the same way? Could they mix? All these questions constitute the starting point of this project. Will you join us for the adventures that come with it?

Synduality is set in a dystopian future where you must team up with an AI to navigate a world devastated by toxic rain and monstrous creatures, and reclaim lost territories to secure the future of humanity. We’ve collaborated with Neco on character design and Gyobu on mech design, two renowned designers who brought their inimitable futuristic style to the game, much to our delight. Take a look at the trailer below for a first look at the game.

Amasia’s universe

The year is 2222. It’s been years since a mysterious rain, dubbed Tears of the New Moon, hit the world and decimated almost the entire human race. . Born from this toxic rain, monstrous creatures hungry for human flesh drove the few survivors to flee the danger. They then exiled themselves to the depths of the Earth where they built a refuge: Amasia. In search of solutions to ensure their survival in this dystopian city, the humans met an artificial intelligence named Magus. It is shrouded in uncertainty that begins the story of the cohabitation between humans and artificial intelligence, and of their respective quest for identity.

Search for resources aboard your Cradle Coffin

In Synduality, you will join the ranks of the Drifters, whose livelihood is to venture into the most dangerous corners of the surface to collect AO crystals, a rare and precious resource. You’ll complete each mission aboard your Cradle Coffin, an armed vehicle that will take you wherever your adventure takes you. Your Cradle Coffin is fully customizable: choose its appearance, but also its arsenal to adapt it to your own style of play.

Meet Magus, AI and Partner

You will not be alone in your adventure. An AI by the name of Magus will join you during the fights and will stay alongside your mecha to guide you, advise you and alert you in case of danger to help you complete your missions in one piece. Enjoy unique interactions and dialogues depending on the situation.

Compete against enemies and other players (PvPvE)

The vast battlefield in which you evolve is populated by Enders, xenomorphic creatures that will try to prevent you from collecting AO crystals. Use the different types of weapons built into your Cradle Coffin to fend off these enemy creatures.

Immerse yourself in intense PvPvE combat. When playing online, you will also be able to come face to face with other players on missions. Be particularly careful, they could well try to put a spoke in your wheels.
