Even before the release of Final Fantasy Tactics, Square-Enix had launched a Tactical RPG cult on Super Nintendo, Saturn and PlayStation between 1995 and 1997, Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together. This spin off to the short franchise of Ogre Battle had become better known than the basic series, and had been entitled to a remake on PSP in 2010/2011.
The saga has been dormant since, but it shouldn’t last too long. Internet users have discovered on the Playstation Store the product page now removed from a certain Tactics Ogre: Rebornon which was already a logo and illustrations leaving little room for doubt as to its existencebut no description to find out more. Square-Enix had also registered the name of the game at the beginning of the year.
Everything therefore suggests that this new project is real and that its announcement is imminent. But why did the publisher not take advantage of the video game events of the last few days to make it official? Will it be a new episode, or a remake of the original? Will it be exclusive to PS4 and PS5 or cross-platform? Many questions, and for the moment no beginning of answers to be put under the tooth.
