Tactics Ogre: Reborn set to return in November

While a PlayStation Store sheet confirmed the rumor about the return of the franchise Ogre Battle last June, it was still the PlayStation Store that told us a little more about the release of Ogre Tactics: Reborn.

If for the moment nothing has been officially confirmed, the tactical RPG from Square Enix should be added to the already long list of releases of the year from the Japanese giant. A release that could be on the horizon for November 11, 2022. A second revival for a game that, let’s remember, was first released in 1995 on Super Nintendo then reworked for the PSP in 2010. This time, the title will be available on PS4 and PS5.

This redesign of the game is based on the PSP version of Tactics Ogre: Reborn with of course its share of improvements. Graphic and sound improvements in the first place, but also a modernization of different aspects of the game. Thus, Square Enix has reworked the artificial intelligence, the user interface and the class system. The studio also thought of making some additions to its title, in particular the automatic save, absent on the old versions of the game.

Also new, the cinematics will be fully dubbed in English and Japanese. And the music was re-recorded. Enough to give more life and weight to the motivations of the different characters.

Finally, an option that is very important in strategy games, especially when our choices influence the course of history, makes its arrival, the flashback. The World Tarot will allow you to trace the course of history while keeping the power of your forces intact. So you can see where the story would have ended with a different path choice. As for the Tarot Chariot, it will allow you to go back in an ongoing battle up to a certain number of moves. Enough to allow the less seasoned players to play without the fuss.
