He will make his big debut at the Giro in 2024. Tadej Pogacar will therefore be at the start of the next Tour of Italy. In any case, this is what he announced on Sunday, December 17, in a video published by the organizers of the cycle race. “Andiamo” – literally, “let’s go” – declares the Slovenian, already a double winner of the Tour de France (2020 and 2021). The leader of the UAE Emirates team has participated once in the Tour of Spain, in 2019 (3^e), but never in the third grand tour of the calendar.

The victorious Giro-Grande Boucle double has not been achieved since 1998 and the Italian Marco Pantani. The start of the second stage of the next Tour de France will also be given from the hometown of the “Pirate”, Cesenatico. The Giro will take place from May 4 to 26, 2024. The Tour de France, from June 29 to July 21.

The 107^e edition of the Giro will conclude in Rome at the end of a third week at high altitude including the ascent of the Stelvio pass and a formidable penultimate stage. The 2023 edition of the race was won by another Slovenian, Primoz Roglic.
