Take part and win – with the “Krone” on a puzzle tour around the lake

All sporty hobby detectives are ready to go. In the Neusiedler See region, they are now pedaling hard to crack historical puzzles for the 100th birthday of Burgenland along the idyllic route. With a little luck, two teams of two will win a participant package worth 150 euros each.

Austria’s first history bike escape tour can be started in Neusiedl, Rust or Podersdorf. The route runs on the popular Lake Neusiedl cycle path through the district town, Jois, Winden, Weiden, Breitenbrunn, Purbach, Donnerskirchen, Oggau, Rust, Podersdorf. Cyclists can take the Rust-Podersdorf ferry to reach 43 kilometers and 65 kilometers via Mörbisch-Illmitz. “When you show the riddle backpack, there is a discount on the ferry tickets,” they say.

Young entrepreneur Nina Meran from Parndorf, the creative head of Lake’s Escape, ensures that the trip is exciting. Your criminal case, which occupies the cyclists along the route, revolves around two young people who, doing their private genealogy research, go back to 1921, when Burgenland was created. “History doesn’t have to be boring,” emphasizes Merano. Burgenland Tourism Managing Director Didi Tunkel can only agree with her: “The puzzle tour is varied and interesting when it comes to the 100th anniversary.” www.lakesescape.at.
