Take part in the photo contest on the theme “Family (s)” with Wipplay

Aufeminin and Wipplay have joined forces to offer photography enthusiasts a competition with the theme “Family (s).” Let your inspiration speak!

In September 2020, aufeminin and Wipplay joined forces with the Réunion des Musées Nationaux and the Musée du Luxembourg in Paris for a photography competition on the theme “The beauty of the strange. If the competition had been a great success, it was also an opportunity to highlight real talents in photography. And the aufeminin editorial staff had been delighted to meet with Marion Saupin, winner of the aufeminin prize for “The beauty of the strange.”

From this Wednesday April 14, 2021 and until Wednesday May 26, 2021, aufeminin and Wipplay are launching a new photography competition. The theme is “Family (ies)”, a societal subject, inspiring and illustrious in many ways. There is no doubt that photography can make it possible to express and represent families in all their plurality.

The competition jury

Guillaume Geneste: Founder of the La Chambre Noire laboratory in Paris, open since 1996, Guillaume Geneste takes the images of numerous photographers-authors and practices film and digital processes. Form “family self-portraits”, he also photographs his wife Colette and his two children, Chloé and Gabriel, and stages himself with them.

Alain Laboile: sculptor, photographer and father of six children, Alain Laboile started a family album in 2007, at the age of 39. Series “Family” was in the beginning his intimate treasure. This self-taught photographer who only has one photo of his own childhood simply wanted to mark the time that passes with his family.

Coralie Monnet : the work of this photographer who lives between France and England focuses on storytelling, using a poetic documentary style to capture the unique relationships and connections between the people she photographs. Coralie is naturally drawn to the beauty she finds in everyday moments, so precious, but often ignored or forgotten. Its objective is to capture the passing of time, the details and the trials of everyday life.

Nathalie Barenghi : responsible for the parenting section of aufeminin’s editorial staff, Nathalie Barenghi takes heart to inform about the essentials of the life of parents, but also and above all to advise, decipher with the help of experts and reassure to play down this daily life that she knows well. His hobbyhorse: defending the rights of children to safety, education, protection and against all forms of violence that they may suffer, but also defending the rights and choices of parents and families. (all families) as long as they are made for the sake of the children.

Mélanie Bonvard: after being a member of the jury for the Wipplay competition “The beauty of the strange”, Mélanie Bonvard once again wishes to bring her perspective to the photography competition “Family (ies).” Journalist on the culture section with the aufeminin editorial staff, Mélanie deciphers pop culture from a societal angle and questions the female gaze there, because she is certain of it, everything is a question of gaze. Always passionate about images, she observes the representations of our society in all its plurality through art.
