Lucka film produced by Skydance Animation, will be released on the streaming platform next August 5.
As its catalog grows slowly but surely, Apple TV+ will add a string to its bow by offering Luckan animated feature film to be released during the summer.
A prestigious cast for this first major animation project
The film is made by Skydance Animation, the arm of the studio responsible for blockbusters like the franchise. Impossible missionthe last two star trek or the future Top Gun: Maverick. It will be produced by John Lasseter, the former creative director of Pixar Studios and creator of Toy Storywho had left his former home following accusations of sexual harassment made by several employees.
Luck will tell the adventures of Sam Greenfield, the luckiest girl on the planet who will land in the Land of Chance, a perfect world populated by magical creatures.
In the voice cast, we will find Eva Noblezada in the role of Sam, Simon Pegg (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead), Whoopi Goldberg or even Jane Fonda in the role of a dragon.
Apple is therefore betting on animation with this first major project and could have a card to play in the youth segment, while Netflix is gradually abandoning this sector. We learned a few days ago that the streaming giant, which lost subscribers for the first time in its history, was going to cut into its many animation projects to save money.
Luck will be available on the platform from Friday August 5, after an exclusive presentation at the prestigious Annecy animation festival next June.
