Tandem: have other purposes been considered? Astrid Veillon and Stéphane Blancafort respond

While France 3 broadcast the last two episodes of “Tandem” last night, Astrid Veillon and Stéphane Blancafort gave their opinion on the series finale. And explained why the adventures of Léa and Paul could not have ended otherwise.

After seven seasons and no less than 84 episodes, the Tandem adventure ended last night on France 3 with the broadcast of the last two investigations by Léa Soler (Astrid Veillon) and Paul Marchal (Stéphane Blancafort).

At the end of a finale rich in surprises, marked in particular by the marriage of Erwan (Piérick Tournier), the two heroes of the series, formerly married, ended up admitting that they still loved each other and by giving a new chance to their love story. To the delight of Tandem fans, who have been waiting for the reunion of Paul and Léa for seven years now.

Asked about this end, Astrid Veillon told our microphone that she was delighted with the way the series ended and that she saw no other possible conclusion to the story of Léa and Paul. “I assume that we had such recognition from the public, such loyalty, that we had to end on this positive note. Of course, we could have imagined a dramatic end, but it is not not the Tandem spirit”.

“We have been making a promise to the public for seven years and for me it was legitimate to fulfill this promise. So, in my opinion, there was no other possible outcome. They had to get back together”continues the interpreter of Léa, who herself made the decision to stop the series. “And we leave the viewer with a new promise: that Léa and Paul will remarry. It’s a very nice ending”.

A feeling shared Stephane Blancafortthe interpreter of Paul, who told our colleagues of Entertainment TV : “This final scene is very well seen. Astrid has greatly improved the writing of this last sequence which was still unavoidable. It was not necessary to make a mistake. Fortunately we escaped a “Game of Thrones” finale, with a pathetic conclusion! (laughs)”.

“We had imagined improbable American-style endings, with someone who sacrifices himself for the other! (laughs) But it’s so much more beautiful that way. In addition there is this dimension of family reunion, a reunion that doesn’t just concern Léa and Paul. It’s also touching because it’s a choral ending. It’s very clever”.

Now that Paul and Léa are reunited, fans of Tandem will have the pleasure of seeing them soon as a couple for a final TV movie, entitled “Back to the Past”, currently in filming. An exceptional 90-minute unit, directed by Astrid Veillon, which will return in particular to the meeting of the two heroes in the 90s, even when the past will resurface in a violent and dramatic way in their lives. An entire program.
