France 3 is broadcasting “Tandem: Back to the Past” this evening, an exceptional TV film which will bring the successful detective series led by Astrid Veillon and Stéphane Blancafort to a close.
On Tuesday June 13, 2023, France 3 broadcast the last two episodes of the seventh and final season of Tandem, its successful detective series led by Astrid Veillon and Stéphane Blancafort.
In this finale, and after 7 years of hesitation, Léa Soler and Paul Marchal, our two heroes, finally decided to let their feelings speak and give their love story another chance.
And if from the outset, France 3 had announced that there would be no season 8, the channel had still decided to offer a great gift to its viewers by ordering a special Tandem TV film, lasting of 90 minutes.
Directed by Astrid Veillon, who is behind the camera for the first time in her career, this new opus entitled Tandem: Return to the Past is broadcast this Tuesday, January 2 from 9:10 p.m. on the channel.
An episode that takes us back to the past
This unit will return to the meeting of Paul and Léa in the 90s. It all begins when the two lovers go on family vacation to the new house of Annie (Isabelle Tanakil) and Pierre (Patrick Descamps).
Far from Montpellier and the gendarmerie, they intend to take advantage of this time with family. That’s without counting the discovery of an arm along a hiking trail which quickly pushes them to investigate.
Analyzes reveal that the body is that of a woman named Ludivine Camus, a former friend of Léa, but also an ex-girlfriend of Paul, who died 28 years ago. To resolve this affair, Léa and Paul will have to delve into their past and reopen the investigation into the death of Ludivine Camus which had been classified as a suicide at the time.
Tandem: Back to the Past will be an opportunity for France 3 viewers to discover the past of Paul and Léa, the story alternating between 1994 and today thanks to flashbacks that are sometimes amusing, sometimes moving.
Will there be other episodes?
Unfortunately for fans of the series, Tandem: Back to the Past will indeed be the last part of the adventures of our heroes played by Astrid Veillon and Stéphane Blancafort.
Contacted by us, France 3 confirmed that no new opus had been ordered by the channel. It was Astrid Veillon who was at the origin of this decision. The actress had in fact expressed her wish to leave the detective series to the production and the channel at the end of season 5.
She explained that she was afraid of doing too much of the season. Astrid Veillon therefore made the decision to stop Tandem and hang up Léa Soler’s costume well in advance, in order to allow the writers to imagine a nice ending.
