Tariff check: Is the Nintendo Switch worth it with the Telekom tariff?

LogiTel is currently offering you the Nintendo Switch together with the racing game “Mario Kart 8” and an additional pair of Joy-Cons in connection with a Telekom contract. For the tariff you pay just 19.95 euros at the beginning and the Nintendo bundle costs another 49 euros. In the deal check we will tell you whether the deal is really worth it or whether it is just a sham offer.

I always have fond memories of New Year’s Eve. While we were looking forward to the end of the year, we played Mario Party. In addition to the increasing hatred for lost mini-games, the fun also increased rapidly. With the Nintendo Switch, you can get even the biggest gaming grumps to gamble. In the current offer from LogiTel you not only get the latest version of the console, but also an Internet contract with a download speed of 50 Mbit/s.

The offer has a catch. You only pay 19.99 euros, but the monthly costs increase after six months. From the seventh month you pay 39.99 euros for the “Magenta M at home” tariff. You can also top up the tariff and then get a download speed of 100 Mbit/s with the Magenta L at home. There you pay 44.95 euros from the seventh month. But let’s take a closer look at all the contracts and numbers.

Checking out the Nintendo Switch with the Telekom tariff

The Nintendo bundle costs you 49 euros as a one-off price. In addition, there are 4.99 euros shipping costs. In addition to the 69.95 euros connection costs for the “Magenta M at home” tariff, as mentioned, you pay 19.95 euros in the first six months and 39.95 euros from the seventh month. You get a download speed of 50 Mbit/s, which is more than sufficient for gaming. The larger “Magenta L Home” contract costs you 44.95 euros from the seventh month. With so many numbers, it’s best to see if you’re actually saving on the deal.

The contract already costs you 908.75 euros if you conclude it regularly. If you were to buy the contract and the console bundle separately, you would currently save 341 euros over 24 months with LogiTel. That means the provider almost gives you the console as part of the contract. Incidentally, you also have the same savings with the “Magenta L” contract. If you are considering changing your Internet provider and want to play games on the plane, then the deal is really worth it.

However, if you only decide to “finance” a Nintendo Switch, then this contract is definitely not recommended. It’s up to you whether you want to take such an addition as a tipping point to committing yourself to a new contract.
